January 2005
I'm so sorry for the long silence. We are on the little vacation now which (vacation) will be finished only when we come back to Russia. This is not so much time as you might think, we are going back to Russia in about two-three months. Yes, we are going back, our time in South Africa has come to the end. God clearly wants us to move on in our life. What are we planning to do? Most likely I'm going to join one christian computer business, Irina will continue her photography studies and probably will have some photo practice helping me to do some of designes, by the way - her knowlege of Adobe Photoshop is much better than mine. This are our close future plans.
Now about our closest past: We meet our Cristmas and New year here in Cape Town, For the Christmas we had an excelent dinner cooked by my beloved wife. Next celebration was Irina's birthday! She was happy to get all presents and love from husband and friends. Next, we had a great New year. It wasn't that great as Russian celebration or Norwegian New year but still, you have to know places where to go for this celebration. This year we went to Water Front tourist center in Cape Town and watched fireworks there. It was fun.
In a few days after new year, there was huge annual Cape Minstrel's Parade. This parade goes in history till 1600 year when slaves, who lived in Cape Town, had one day off, which they made a celebration. This year celebration was great and we spent a lot of time watching minstrels walking by.
Also during these free vacation days we managed to visit two museums - one historical-cultural and the other "District Six" museum. "District Six" was a district in Cape Town where colored people lived from beginning of Cape Town till appartheid era. In 1960-s this district was cleared of the colored people and later was completely demolished.
