SWARL
First of all what is swarl - this is abbreviation for Shortwave Amateur Radio Listening. The site is committed to SWL (short wave listening) hobby and this is the hobby of thousands of people around the world. Maybe you payed attention and saw a few large antennas standing on the roof of some houses or on the tall post. Well, this is the first sign of amateur radio hobby. I can secretly tell you what is happening under that huge antenna - there is a guy or lady sitting with his/her little radio transceiver, microphone, headset, and maybe a telegraph key for morse code transmitting. I hope i didnt write too many unfamiliar words for you to spoil your interest.
Hosting and domain just for you
I have registered resellesr's plan on one of the major distributors of domain registry. I didnt encrease price very much so, my domain names are actually cheaper that other's There are quite a few discounts available, as well as two (at the moment) unlimited hosting (cpanel) plans - windows and linux based. The site originally was designed for those in ham radio hobby, that is reflected on logotype and name, but of course, hosting is hosting, and domains are domains, anyone can get them. You can also start your own reselling plan. Looking forward to see you at hamhost.eu.
XFCE: Replace Thunar with PCManFM
A caveat about my instructional posts in general... I am a user, and not that much of a power user at that. I know what I know about computers mostly through trial and error. If I state something and there is a better way to do it, please say so. I also tend to be over thorough and explain things as if everyone was a beginner... this is a result of my early thrashings and gnashings with Linux where I wished someone would do the same and where I discovered how much outdated/conflicting/plain old wrong information there is out there. roll Sorry in advance for that...
Best alternatives to Artisteer
Do you have Drupal/WordPress/Joomla etc. powered website? did you ever try to create a theme of your dream for it? do you find it complecated? well, in case you didnt know, there is very nice program to do the job for you in very visual way, the program called Artisteer (all reference links are below this post) The Artisteer does excellent job but it has major drawback - it's not freeware. To say more, the prices are way to high for regulare site owner. I think prices are designed for profecional webdesigners BUT, these profecionals should be able to write even better sites using other commercial products, more suitable for variaty of jobs.
