September 2005

We are still in Rostov-na-Donu, in Russia, and after long waiting we have finally got internet connection in our flat. Now I'm going to be online more often and you will hear more news from us. First of all, our baby is comming in one month and we are waiting for him buying clothes and stroller and making arrangements with doctors and clinick where Irina will give birth. It's a big business here in Russia, you need to find the right doctor and right clinick, but this is a different story.

July 2005

Hi, that's me again and I'm so sorry AGAIN for not updating you with news. The pregnancy of ours is not news anymore so, I'm not going to tell much about it except that doctors think that this is going to be a boy. Name? we didn't manage to come up with one result so, we don't have a name yet. My beloved wife went to visit her relatives and friends in her home town Monchegorsk while I'm working here in Rostov-na-Donu. Oh thee is a new thing: I've got job as a programmer in one of the companies here. So far I have to admit - I don't like my job, most likely because I don't have to do progamming here but have to take care of ancient computers of the clients and explain to them (clients) how the computer works. I also have to learn again because programming language that I have to use here is different from what I learned in college. I'm also missing missions VERY much. I would say the same about Irina.

April 2005

Its so long time since we've talked to you last time, I guess you keep coming here with the hope to see some new stories from us... Well, here we go, there are alot of news that are going through my mind at the moment, just need to choose the major ones.

January 2005

I'm so sorry for the long silence. We are on the little vacation now which (vacation) will be finished only when we come back to Russia. This is not so much time as you might think, we are going back to Russia in about two-three months. Yes, we are going back, our time in South Africa has come to the end. God clearly wants us to move on in our life. What are we planning to do? Most likely I'm going to join one christian computer business, Irina will continue her photography studies and probably will have some photo practice helping me to do some of designes, by the way - her knowlege of Adobe Photoshop is much better than mine. This are our close future plans.

Sharks 16.11.2004

 By Wendell Roelf
An eyewitness to a presumed Great White shark attack along the False Bay coastline on Monday morning described how the shark circled its prey and tore into an elderly female bather.
"All that was left was a little red bathing cap," said False Bay Yacht Club rear commodore Paul Dennett, who witnessed the attack from his home, about 100m from where the bloodied water was dissipating.
Dennett said that at about 7am he saw a lot of thrashing in the water, about 20m off the shoreline of Fish Hoek Beach.
He went outside and saw the shark attacking something, which he initially suspected was a seal.

Summer! 26.10.2004

Summer is here!

Great to meet you again! We have a few things that happening around - first of course is summer. It's nice warm weather outside and a lot of people already swim in the ocean, even though temperature there is not much higher than 15 degrees. Well, I already been there in the water but I used wet suit, so water wasn't that cold to me.

16.09.2004 Google and Orkut

Recently I've got a long-waited invitation to join Google's mail service which has limited number of users as it's a beta testing of the revolutionary email service. As a member of this service I can invite a few of my friends to join the team, but this is the other story. After I joined GMail I found out that there is another Google service (it doesn't belong to Google yet but it's situated on Google server, and developed by one of the Google stuff members) This service is all about friendship and development of relationships. It is NOT the same as any romantic introduction in Internet but it is quite serious community of different people. The site is called Orkut and you can read more about both of these projects in my internet browsing news

30.08.2004 Mould

Do you know what is mould? this is happening when you keep your stuff in wet and cold cellar. Well, we do not keep things in the cellar, we kind of live in such place. Look at this shoes - this is shoes covered with mould.

30.08.2004 Spring

Hey we are finally back from our vacation and all in work now. There is not much to say about time that we spent reading and sleeping and going to the movies during vacation. The weather was not pleasant sometimes but still the vacation was good. We didn't see too many different places but we met some animals quite close. On this picture you may see the baby-seal who was laying on the stone about five meters from the walk, so we made a few pictures of it.

I have to also say that winter has finally gone and we changed our clothes to the summer season. It seems to me that there are only two seasons in South Africa and those are winter and summer. There is only one week of spring and probably one week on autumn. Now we have sunny, warm whether without any clouds. Birds are singing and fields are covered with flowers. Something new in the air, new smells and feelings. New leaves on the trees.

We still pray for our future place of ministry and doing some steps towards getting this destination clear to us. Right now we are looking at a few opportunities and one of them is Madagascar. We do not know much about needs in Madagascar right now but planning to visit this island before we leave here. To do so we'll have to buy air tickets and those would cost us $1200-1400 (depends on season) we are also looking for the cheaper ways to get there (e.g. boat) but it looks so far that this is the only way. PLEASE pray for us to get those money by the end of this year and to visit the island. Also pray that God would clearly show us if we need to come back to Madagascar for ministry, or not.

15.07.2004 Heater

HeaterHello everybody. The winter here is going as it should be. The last time I promised to show you the picture of our heater, so, here it is. You can click on this picture to see larger version of it. By the way, I did a few modifications in the code of this site and you should be able to click on most of the pictures to see their larger versions. Enjoy the view.

You can see it's burning gas from the tank below the burner.
