We are here

There is nothing happened I was just to busy with new server setup. The YWAM base where I'm working as a webmaster, decided to change the server where our site was hosted. If you followed the previous posts you can see what I mean. The site that we are running on this server, grew really big, and consumes a lot of resources, so, I had to setup new server in such a way that most of resources would be given to the website and not to something else that we are not even using.

Any way, now everything is pretty much setup and I just need to watch it on the topic of resource consumption.
About ourselves:
Irina is busy with the kids most of the days during a week. It is not so easy, and I let her rest a little during weekend. There are no cake orders now and Irina is a little bored, she really enjoys making cakes but if only me who will be "ordering" them I might end up with diabetes, so, we are patiently waiting for the special orders.

Stefan is in the age when the one asks a lot of questions. He asks a question and then corrects us if we didnt reply the same way as the previous time. He remembers by heart most of the books that we have in our kids library and sometimes he corrects me if I didnt read something properly.
Matvej is trying to start scrolling but not very successful yet - he pushes himself backwards instead forward and often end up falling on the side. It is very difficult to keep him in one place now. He loves Stefan and has a lot of fun when Stefan jumps around him (Stefan also has quite some fun then.

As you can see we are doing good and hoping to visit Russia in this summer. We already got tickets and now the only thing is we need to prepare ourselves (packing and stuff).

Irina's new hobby

From a very young age, practically everyone loves to eat cake. (Do you have pictures of yourself on your first birthday with cake smeared all over your
hands and face? I do.) For most people, the word "cake" conjures up images of sweet times, fun gatherings, and memorable celebrations.
On its own, a cake certainly can be beautiful and delicious. But a decorated cake, particularly one with well-executed flavors and designs thats stunning in its own right and appropriate for the occasion, takes the event to another level, delights all those in attendance, and - perhaps most important - makes the celebrant or honoree feel even more special.(c)Joe LoCicero "Cake Decorating For Dummies"
As many of you know my latest hobby is a cake decoration. Have a look what have i done so far in the gallery .

http://www.kuharka.ru/ is my inspiration site (sorry only Russian).

What do we do

Today I have noticed that I'm slowly dropping taking care of our website. The reason is the same as always-no time for it or not enough time. Well, tihis is something to change in myself.

Since I cannot find the time and topic to write about I see that the best thing whould be to describe our day today.
As you know from one of my previous articles I'm working hard how to prepare our site (I mean ywanirestehas.se) to be moved to another server. During this preparation I tried to install and setup webserver on local machine. After repeating the same setup for as many times as I can't count anymore I can surely say that now I can do this job. AndJ this is one more thing for my skills profile. So, that was what I was doing all day today and all week before.
Irina has found 9 hobby - she likes to make beautiful cakes, she decorates them so nicely and creatirally that I dont dare to eat or even cut their after all. I think she will write about this hobby by herself as well as put some of the pictures.
Stefan continue to learn english, right how he practices word "No". Fle is definately grows fast and now very oftenvery often he doesnt want to do what you asking him to and more and more often he doest want to pray. This is actually sad for me but I know tha he has to do it with his will. Today Stefan was very long outside with mommy. The wheather is good and it smells with the spring.
Matvej was upset with somethihg most of the day but also hosed some fun when daddy came home from the Office.

Snow at Restenäs

Stefan loves snow, now I know this. This is something that was inherited from mommy. The snow here is not something that you can see every day, but February is usually snowy. We had snow all last week and it is still falling. All kids from the base started the week from building the snowmen and now the finishing it with a lot of fun using sledges. Stefan is spending most of his time outside. If he watches cartons, there is only one thing that can make him to stop - it is if you suggest him to go outside and play there. Yesterday he was riding sledges with mommy until they both got wet. So, as you may noticed, we have a lot of fun!

Ham Radio

"ham radio" refers to amateur radio in general. Amateur radio is hobby that thousands of people involved around the globe. Amateur radio opertors enjoy international communication with the same operators via wireless devices called transceiver. Basically this is short wave communicational hobby. You probably had shortwave radio some time in your life and probably tried to surf radio waves with searching your favorite station, and if you did, quite often you could "catch" something weird out there, like a morse code sound or some voices repeating some meaningless numbers and names. Well, those letters are no as meaningless as you might think at first. Most likely you heard ham radio operator speaking out his call sign (radio identification) inviting others for conversation.
I decided to tell more about this since this is my long time hobby. I started to listen to those call sings somewhere in the middle of 1980-s and even had my operational call sign, but did use it often, because at that time I had not much money and couldnt afford to keep license and transceiver. Now-a-days I returned to that hobby but in a little different form - I'm Short Wave Listener (SWL) The difference between operator and listener is that listener can only listen to the speaking operators and doesnt have right to use transmitter. Operator has license for using certain frequencies to transmit his signal and thus actually communicate with others.
What is the interest in such hobby, you might ask? I can compare this hobby with sport fishing. You seat with the rod in your hands during fishing, and you seat with your radio trying to catch far away station (DX). You need certain skills in fishing to catch the fish you aim to. The same with radio, you need good receiver, antenna, weather condition, propagation. There are a lot of Internet resources with required information about above conditions, but you still need a lot of luck to get some calls in your log book. That is the thing: you not simply listen to someone speaking on the air, you also record his call sign, time, frequency, conditions, and then you send operator a card with this information and he replies with his confirmation card to you. You can see my card at the left side.
Ok, you get a card from somebody - what is next? if you collect number of cards you may apply for diploma in different areas. Example? I have heard and received cards from Trinidad and Tobago, from Turkmenistan, from Luxemburg, from South Africa, from Canada, from Argentina, from Tasmania, and now, I have right to apply for diploma called "Heard All Continents" Another example? I have collected cards from operators from 64 different countries of the world I can apply for 50 Countries award, but I will wait till I have 100 countries confirmed.
The thing is that when I hear somebody speaking on the air, say from Cambodia, I know that there is nothing between my radio and Cambodian transmitter, no other wires, no repeaters, NOTHING! Just a little box of transceiver and a few dozens of meters of antenna. Isnt it exciting?
Besides listening and getting cards, I also participate international Listener's club called SWARL and I'm taking care of the Awards for listeners issued by this club. I also do a lot of design work for the diplomas and awards for the club. My developer skills are also used in full here, I'm working on the logger software (software for recording listening results).
If you are interested to know more about this hobby try to google for "ham radio"you will get a lot of visual information on youtube.com as well as some articles on wikipedia.com or you can write to me and ask questions. My email is www[at]body-builders.org

New Section

If you noticed there is a new section in menu of our site "Downloads". I designed this section for putting my own software up for downloads. I have a couple programs that I would like to share with the world and may be will have even more. So, please keep your eye on this section for new software from Yury.

Matvej moves

There is time in everyone's life when he/she starts to walk, or talk. But there are also times when something happens not so significant for us at the time, but it is a significant step towards those listed above. So, it is happening with Matvej on daily basis: Just recently Matvej learned how to turn his little body over in the bed,and now he always turns himself up side down and wonders: what should i do now? well, that is kind of exciting for us but it is difficult for Matvej at a times. We are trying to record his first movements on video, so that he could see himself when he grows up.

Simplest prayer

When Stefan prays to The Lord, he is hurries so much that quite often skips the name of God. He says something like: "Dear, I thank You for..."Yesterday Stefan prayed like that too, but something hit me during this prayer - he always says "Thank You" instead for "Ask You". Yesterday he was praying for his own healing from cold, and he said: "Dear, I thank You that You healed me and I'm not sick."In my human eyes Stefan is still sick, but I believe there is a lot to learn from the simplest prayers of our kids. Stefan was thanking God for what He has done even before God did it. Isn't it amazing? I dont know if Stefan himself understands why he prays like that but he was the prophet of Living God to me. God just spoke to me through him.
Thank You Lord for this simplest prayer that you hear.

Playing with kids

Stefan was never a playing kid when we came here to Sweden, but nowadays I can see the different kid running around! Stefan has changed so significantly during this season that I don't recognize him sometimes. He loves to play with other kids on the base, every day they all together run like crazy and Stefan is often starting this running contest. It looks like kids enjoy company of each other and me and Irina we love it. Stefan still has almost no language skills to communicate with his friends but he's getting there. Today he was running around with the neighbor Korean girl and they've got into little shop on the base, where different sweets are sold, and we heard both kids screaming there in ENGLISH: Candy! Candy! Kids are teaching each other new language, and they are doing great job.

Tired...

I'm simply tired. there were no news on this site for more than three days, but my commitment was to write you more often. Well, today I was thinking what to write about and the only thought that kept knocking to my mind was - I'm tired. Hope to get some refreshment during a night, and waiting for the weekend. Will write more soon, when I will get refreshed.
